Trinity 2011

I have been lagging about updating the blog lately! I am trying to get caught up and will try to be better. :)I really need to get on Picasa and "steal" some of Kate's pictures from their visit...it's next on my list.
I am finally getting around to getting Trinity pics on here. They are all out of order, but something is better than nothing. :)

This year was a great one! Caroline is the same age I was when we first started going to Trinity and it was so much fun watching her experience everything. We didn't get our own cabin this year but Mom and Dad were kind enough to let us take over their cabin once again! Caroline (and Owen) loved having so much time with Mimi and Papa. There wasn't much sleeping going on but luckily there was plenty of time for naps!

Owen spent much of his vacation in the bjorn
Sorry Mom, I had to! :)
This swing is Caroline's favorite place to enjoy her ice cream. She had a hard time understanding that it isn't her swing and didn't really like it when others sat on it. Stinker

Every 4th of July we head into town for the Ice Cream Social. Homemade pie and ice cream for breakfast...can't beat it!

Love these kids!

Getting ice cream with Papa (I'm pretty sure this was at 10am...only at Trinity can you get away with that!)
Heading on down to the swimming hole

I would love to know what these girls are chatting about

Sleeping Arrangements

Kate and family are visiting and all of the kids wanted to sleep in Caroline's room. Except for a lot of chatter at bed time, they did really well!

Dance Class

I signed Caroline up for a Pre-tap/ballet class through Benicia's Parks and Rec. She is attached to my hip so I wasn't sure how she would do with a dance class where I drop her off, but we need to start getting ready for pre-school. Today was our first class and just like I expected, she wouldn't let me leave. She was super tentative at first, but as the class went on, she started to participate a little. I stayed in the room the whole class, but I inched away little by little until she was actually standing with the other girls. Baby steps. :) She really enjoyed herself. Now we just have to learn about following the teacher's directions!

Memorial Day Weekend

We decided to take a last minute trip (we decided to go the day before we left) to Tahoe for Memorial Day weekend. I think we took more pictures on our phones then on the camera, and I haven't put those on here yet. We were not expecting the ridiculous amount of snow we got over the weekend! Caroline really enjoyed playing in the snow and throwing snowballs at Daddy. :)

I also want to mention how lucky we are to have such amazing and patient parents to watch our crazy dogs every time we decide to take last minute trips to Tahoe. Thanks Mom and Dad...you are the best and we appreciate it!!

This is when it first started snowing. I think we probably got a foot over night!

He is getting so big!

Owen- 3 months

So, Owen is close to 4 months now, but I got a little behind. :) Here he is right at 3 months...such a handsome little guy.

Yosemite 2011

This was our second year taking a trip to Yosemite with friends. My friend Trena has been going since she was a kid and included us (and some other friends) in her annual trip. This year we stayed 4 nights and it was cold and rainy! We went up Friday and by Saturday afternoon it was pouring and freezing. There were a few times we all considered throwing in the towel and heading home but we stuck it out and ended up getting some blue skies. And of course the day we left was beautiful and there was not a cloud to be found!
One of the best parts of the trip is seeing how much Caroline enjoys it. It is pretty much a 5 day long playdate! This year both of our kids had issues with sleeping, which meant we got almost no sleep at all, but with that and the terrible weather, we still managed to have a great time!! The pictures took forever to upload onto here and there all out of order, but they still document our trip.

This was actually our last full day. We took the bus to Yosemite Village and just walked around for the morning.
The most exciting part of the trip for the girls was (sadly) the bus...and the squirrels. We would show Caroline a deer or even a bear and she was interested...until a shuttle drove by. Then all of the girls would yell, "A bus! We see a bus!" This went on all day, every day. :)

This is Sierra and Caroline sitting on the shuttle reading their maps.

Sweet girls
We did not anticipate the freezing cold weather and poor Owen did not have warm enough clothes. Luckily Trena had an extra fleece suit for Samantha that she let Owen wear. It may be girly, but it sure kept him warm!
Love these girls!

She was navigating for Scott. "You go over the lake, down the slide and into the campground" :)

On Sunday we had decent weather and hiked to Mirror Lake. It was an easy hike and the kids loved spending time running around.

Waiting for that bus again. :)
On Saturday we hiked to Lower Yosemite Falls in a light rain. It was cold!
This deer let us get close enough where we could (but didn't) touch it.

Scott got hot during our hike and since we took a less traveled trail, decided to take off a layer. I couldn't resist taking pictures. :)
