It's official!

After a year of looking, about 15 offers, and 3 (or 4?) failed contracts, we closed on our Tahoe cabin (actually in Truckee) today! We are so excited to get up there and get things moved in. Scott has been looking/researching cabins up there for about 5 years and he is so happy to be able to make this dream of his a reality. Tahoe is his favorite place to be and I am looking forward to making many fun memories with our friends and family. :) Here are a few pictures!

Watermelon Party

Caroline's friend Sierra had her 3rd birthday party last weekend and the theme was Picnic/Watermelon...super cute. Trena asked me to be in charge of the cupcakes and I had a really fun time deciding what to do and carrying it out! I did some vanilla bean cupcakes and some chocolate and played with a few different ways to decorate.

These were picnic ants marching around the food. Silly.

Daddy gave Owen a taste of the frosting...not winning any parenting awards this week.

Painting fun!

Most who know me know that I do not like paint....I really, really don't like paint. I am not an artistic person and I can't stand the mess of it. Luckily when I taught Kindergarten, I had an assistant who loved paint and my kids went to art class once a week. :) Caroline has been asking to paint and I just can't resist those beautiful eyes...so we went to the craft store and picked out a bunch of different colors of paint! I must really love this kid. :) She loves it and it is one of our favorite activities to do together.

Owen- 6 months

How is it that my little baby is already 6 months old? I think time is passing more quickly this time...Slow down!! His little personality develops a little more each day and he is such a sweet, mild mannered little guy. We think he is teething, which has caused some crankiness, but that is to be expected. I just wish those darn teeth would come through already! We started solid foods about a week before he hit 6 months and he was definitely ready! He took to it like a pro. I have been making all of his baby food (I didn't with Caroline) and it is so much easier then I expected!

At 6 months, Owen:
-is 18lbs 4 oz!
-is 27 inches
-can sit up unassisted, but occasionally tips over
-is really interested in playing with toys
-is more interested in playing with his sister :)
-laughs and smiles constantly
-scoots across the floor
-is trying to figure out crawling, but isn't quite coordinated enough yet
-loves all food he has tried (peas, carrots, squash, baby cereal, avocado, sweet potato and banana)
-is sleeping through the night!

County Fair

Since we didn't make it to the state fair this year, Trena and I decided to take the girls and Owen to the county fair. We went on a Friday morning and it was pretty empty! All morning Caroline talked about wanting to ride a pony, but when the time came, she chickened out. :)

The girls wanted to ride on a motorcycle and loved it...for about 10 seconds. Luckily they were the only kids on the ride, because Caroline made the man stop it about 30 seconds in to it. She did this on just about every ride. :)
