Great book!

I recently finished reading this book and it was so much fun! Amy and I read a lot of books. Sometimes we like them and sometimes we don't (although she usually picks what we read and we usually like them). Rarely is there a book that we both love and this was one of those books. The best part is that the only reason we bought the book is because it was in the Bargain Books section at Barnes and Noble. We have read this author before and liked her, but this is my favorite so far of her books.

4 month check-up

Caroline went to the doctor on Monday for her check-up. She now weighs 14lbs 6 oz. This was such good news because she has gained a whole pound since we put her on the reflux medicine 2 1/2 weeks ago. She is 25 inches long which makes her in the 75th percentile for height, weight and also head circumference. She is very well proportioned. :)
She also received her second round of shots. She did really well (much better than I did watching). All in all she is a healthy girl!!

Nature in our own backyard (and front)

There is a family of deer that lives in our neighborhood. We have to be careful when driving because occasionally they cross the street. There are about six of them (including a baby!). Scott took these pictures the other day. This is is our neighbor's front yard.

Scott spotted this turtle in the back yard. We'll miss seeing all of these fun animals next year when we move.

4 months old! (and rolling...)

Caroline turned 4 months old on September 5th! She is rolling over now. She rolls really well from her back to her belly, but then gets frustrated when she can't get back. The tricky part is when she rolls over in the middle of the night and then screams because she can't get back over. I don't mind though; I figure that soon she will be bigger and not want mom to snuggle with her so much. :)
This is what she does when she rolls over!
Now she likes to sleep on her side. It makes me nervous, so I check on her even more than I used to!

I added this picture just because I think it is really cute.

More summer fun!

Scott's dad and Frankie came for a short visit in July to meet Caroline. The boys headed to the lake to take the boat out and had so much fun! I think this picture of Scott and Frankie (who just started Kindergarten!) is so cute.

Gary took this shot of Frankie "walking on water". I love this picture...such great timing!

Visit with Grandma Woodland

After going to the beach we drove to PA to visit Scott's grandma. She was so excited to meet Caroline.

Caroline has been quite the traveler this summer!

The Beach

We decided to head down to the beach in NJ for a weekend to visit with Scott's family. Caroline had her first experience with the ocean and even got to put her feet in!

We were able to spend a little time with her cousins
Dillon and Bridget.

I hope Caroline enjoys the water more than her mom! We will have to start swimming lessons at a young age. Here she is pretending to be a lifeguard. :)

It was such a pretty night on the beach.
Caroline got to snuggle with her Auntie Sarah!

Washington DC

Scott, Caroline and I spent 4 weeks in DC this summer. Scott was studying a lot but we still got to go out and see the sights. We stayed at a hotel in Dupont Circle. We were able to walk just about everywhere and when it was too far to walk, we took the metro. It was nice not driving our car for a while.
While we were there, we went to the White House. (here is a picture of Scott showing Caroline the White House, but she looks a little bored). We didn't actually get to tour the White House because apparantly you have to sign up 3 months in advance...we are certainly not that organized!

We also went to the monuments and a few of the museums. It was a lot of fun. We will definitely have to visit again when Caroline is a little older so she can appreciate all of the history.
While we were visiting the monuments, there was some cheesy band filming a music video. It is hard to tell in the picture, but we got a good laugh!

Another fun thing that happened while we were there is that Baby Girl turned 3 months old! Here are some pictures of her (just because you can never have enough pictures of the baby!)

Trinity 2008

Caroline went on her first plane ride (all the way across the country) to CA the first week of July for our annual vacation to Trinity Alps Resort. She did great on the plane and we had a great week with my family.

We were there for the 4th of July and all of the excitement was just too much for her. :)

We all got to meet her cousin Joseph who was born just two days
after her!
He is such a cutie!!

Everyone had a relaxing and fun time. We were not quite ready to go home!

Getting started

Scott came up with the idea of starting a blog for our family. I think it is a great idea! This way anyone interested can come here to read up on how and what we are doing. Caroline coming into our lives has definitely made us more interesting people! I will try and keep up with this as much as possible and we will see where it goes.
This is the proof of Caroline's birth announcement done by Penny Noell (http://pennynoell.com). I love the way it turned out! She is a great photographer and came to our house to shoot the pictures when Caroline was only two weeks old!
