Happy Halloween!

This year, Caroline was so excited for Halloween. Everyday is Halloween in our house since she rarely wears anything besides dress up clothes. :) It was the first year (of many, I'm sure) that I was unable to influence her costume decision. I resisted the "princess phase" as long as I could, but I couldn't deny her her choice. She was so excited to be Sleeping Beauty and the look on her face when we picked up the dress was priceless! I'll do pretty much anything to get that look on her face. :) Caroline really wanted Owen to be a prince, but we couldn't find a costume, and he was just so cute as a monkey!

We had a bunch of Caroline's friends over for dinner before Trick-or-Treating and they were all very cute going to the houses. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of that part of the day. It was a fun night!

Preschool Halloween Party

Caroline's school had a Halloween party on Monday. Scott was home so I was able to go and help. The kids were all very cute and seemed to have fun!

At the end of their parade, they sand a song they had been practicing.

Owen 8 months

My little guy is getting so big! I can't believe I am already starting to think about his birthday! I love how his personality is developing and watching him grow everyday, but I wish I could make time slow down. His first year is passing by too quickly.

At 8 months, Owen:

-is very efficient with his army crawling. He is moving toward crawling on all fours, but seems happy to scoot along on his belly for now.
-Is moving out of 9 month clothes and in to 12 months.
-Babbles constantly! "dada" and "mama" are his favorites so far.
-loves to mimic! He mimics sounds he hears and actions he sees.
-loves, loves, loves his sister. His face lights up the moment he sees her. :)
-likes to bang on everything
-can self feed really well, but is still happy eating the purees I make for him.
-loves to play with any cord or outlet he can find (and he can find them all). He is also a big fan of splashing in the dog water. (lucky me!)
-loves bath time. He will crawl into his bathroom and bang on the tub any chance he gets.
-is starting to pull himself to stand. He is a little wobbly, but getting stronger each day.
-just got his first two teeth (on the bottom)

Owen still has a pretty mellow personality (like his Daddy, complete opposite from Caroline...and Mommy) but is definitely a chatty little guy. He sleeps well and loves his cuddle time. I love watching him discover new things...I just adore my little guy!

Silly

I know you aren't supposed to compare your kids but I think it is so funny to see how many similarities there are. I have been going through Caroline's baby pictures and I have found quite a few that are similar to pictures we have taken of Owen. These two have completely different personalities and don't really look alike, but as babies, they sure do like to play the same!

Caroline was less happy about being under there. :)

Weekend in Tahoe

We have been spending a lot of time at our cabin in Tahoe and it is starting to come together. We are loving being able to go up anytime we want and stay as long as we can! This past weekend we went because our Home Owners Association in Truckee had a Fall Festival, and we decided to hit up Apple Hill on our way home yesterday.

It's official!

After a year of looking, about 15 offers, and 3 (or 4?) failed contracts, we closed on our Tahoe cabin (actually in Truckee) today! We are so excited to get up there and get things moved in. Scott has been looking/researching cabins up there for about 5 years and he is so happy to be able to make this dream of his a reality. Tahoe is his favorite place to be and I am looking forward to making many fun memories with our friends and family. :) Here are a few pictures!

Watermelon Party

Caroline's friend Sierra had her 3rd birthday party last weekend and the theme was Picnic/Watermelon...super cute. Trena asked me to be in charge of the cupcakes and I had a really fun time deciding what to do and carrying it out! I did some vanilla bean cupcakes and some chocolate and played with a few different ways to decorate.

These were picnic ants marching around the food. Silly.

My baby girl....not happy with me taking her picture. :)

I tried to get a picture of Caroline with the birthday girl, but she was NOT having it!
Daddy gave Owen a taste of the frosting...not winning any parenting awards this week.
