Pumpkin Patch

We took Caroline to the Pumpkin Patch in Dixon on Sunday. Mom and Dad met us there and we had such a fun time. Before we left C found this basket and insisted on carrying it everywhere! I didn't think we would ever get out of here....so we finally let her take it in the car.

Loving Daddy at the Pumpkin Patch!

Ooops...she forgot to look!
Peek-a-Boo

They had these great wagons for the kids so we didn't have to bring the stroller. Caroline held on tight!

She loves her Grammy!

Wine tasting

Here are a few pictures of when we went wine tasting on Friday. It turned out to be such a beautiful day!

She loves to show her belly :)

I am 30!!!

This year has been my best birthday ever! I was not too happy about turning 30 but my wonderful husband (along with some help from my parents and Megan) made my birthday the best it could have been. On Wednesday he surprised me with tickets to Wicked in San Francisco (and arranged for my parents to stay overnight with Caroline here). He took off Wednesday, Thursday and Friday so my birthday was a whole week! Wicked was so much fun and it was nice to have a night to ourselves.

Friday we went wine tasting (or maybe we should call it wine buying because we ended up bringing home close to 4 cases!) with Dad and Saturday I went to Megan's salon to help with her Cut-a-Thon for Breast Cancer Awareness.

When I got home Saturday with Megan, Ryan and the kids there were balloons in front of my house and the cars of a bunch of my family and friends parked n the street. Scott threw a great surprise party for me! He pulled it off and did so much around the house while I was gone that day. It was so much fun and I am so lucky to have such a loving husband!

Settling In

We have been in our house for about six weeks now and it is starting to look and feel like home! We still have some painting to do and Caroline's room to finish, but there are no longer boxes lurking around every corner. Scott also spent three days working on the yard, so it looks fantastic!
I joined a Mom's Club a few weeks ago and it has been great! I have met a great group of girls and we get together with the kids almost every day. One of the girls leads a stroller fitness class at the state park and it kicks my butt each week. :) Scott and I constantly tell each other how happy we are that we chose Benicia and found this house! Having my parents close by has been amazing. We get to go out to dinner with just the two of us sometimes! Caroline is now calling my mom "Mimi" (too hard to say Grammy) and my dad "Papa". My dad was very adamant about being "Grandpa" but once he heard that cute little voice say "Papa" he was over it.

C is such a good helper! She loves helping Grammy sweep.

My little helper

Scott's aunt and cousin got this Kitchen Helper for Caroline when she was a baby. We are finally able to use it! It helps keep her involved while I am cooking and she likes to "cook" with her own utensils/bowls. :)

Brooke's Party

Shea threw a great party for Brooke's birthday last weekend. It was a sock hop and she had a friend make poodle skirts for all of the little girls. So cute! Caroline had a great time!

Brooke sharing her coloring book. :)
All of the little girls loved the strollers. Luckily Brooke has 3 or 4 of them so they didn't fight over them. (If anyone needs an idea for C for Christmas...)
She loved the bright pink frosting!

Again with the stroller

Making her "mean face". We think it's cute but it is a little embarrassing when she gives it to strangers. :)

Big Helper

Scott finally got his huge television and he couldn't wait to get it all set up . Caroline always wants to help with everything so here she is helping Daddy. It probably took him twice as long to get it set up...but I am sure he appreciated all the help!

Home Sweet Home....well, almost

We are finally in our house! We closed last week and the movers brought our things Friday. I had forgotten how much work moving is! Caroline is adjusting pretty well to her new house, but is still a little clingy. Add that to her switching to one nap a day (I tried to keep her on two naps but she wasn't having it) and you have a very tired mommy who isn't getting this house unpacked as fast as she had hoped! I really think I will be unpacking boxes forever.
When we got the keys last Tuesday we spent a few days cleaning. Luckily we have my mom who is a super cleaning machine! She worked for two days to get the kitchen perfect. We considered hiring a cleaning service but thought they wouldn't pay as close attention to detail. Scott has painted the master bedroom (Caroline's room is his next big project) and my dad cleaned all of the carpets. It has been a family project to say the least! My parents have been so helpful. Dad brought us dinner twice in the past week and is doing it again on Saturday. It is so nice not to have to worry about cooking.
The house is awesome...everything we could have ever wanted. We are convinced that we want to live here forever! Once everything is unpacked I will take some pictures.

So much hair...

Caroline is finally getting more hair (yay!). The only problem is that it grows faster in the back than on top. You all know what this means....Baby Mullet. Thank goodness for her little curls because it helps! I love all of the bows and headbands Grandma Sue (Amy's mom) gave to her but Caroline refused to keep them on her head. She and I had a little chat the other day about this. I told her we either wear some bows or get a trim. She must have understood because she will now tolerate hair accessories! :) When I put them in and show her the mirror she gets so excited....such a cutie!
We have found this great park in Elk Grove. It has different playgrounds and a water area. The first day I took her there she was terrified of the water. It sprays and splashes from all directions and she wanted nothing to do with it. We took her back today and all of the sudden she loved it. We didn't have her bathing suit on because I didn't think she would want to get wet so her clothes were soaking wet. She had a blast!
